Cook Time 15 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes
Servings 12 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 12-oz bag fresh cranberries rinsed
  • 1/2 cup organic maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
  • zest of one orange

Instructions

  • Combine all of the ingredients in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Just as it starts to boil, reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • After 15 minutes the sauce will begin to thicken and the cranberries will break down. At this point, if you would like your sauce a little thinner, add a few tablespoons of water.
  • Turn off the heat and cool in the saucepan for 5 minutes.
  • Serve immediately or at room temperature.
  • Optional: mix in toasted chopped pecans to the warm cranberry sauce.

Notes

This sauce can be made up to 2 days in advance. If making ahead of time, make sure to pull from the refirgerator a few hours before serving to take the chill off.
