Organic Turkey Teriyaki Skillet

As the summer temperatures are slowly sneaking up on us, we wanted to create one-pan dishes (stay tuned for more) to avoid overheating your kitchen and extra work for you after a long day. We combined organic ground turkey and vegetables with one of our favorite grocery store sauce brands, Primal Foods. Enjoy this dish alone or use the filling in a lettuce wrap. And high-five y'all, this dish comes together in under 30 minutes!
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 15 minutes
Total Time 25 minutes
Servings 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 lb organic ground turkey
  • 1/2 small onion small diced
  • 1/2 bag of organic cabbage mix (8 oz bag)
  • 1 zucchini quartered lengthwise and diced
  • 2 carrots shredded
  • 1 tbsp ginger chopped or grated on a zester
  • 1 clove of garlic chopped
  • 1/2 cup Primal Kitchen Teriyaki sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt (We love TDW Mineral Salt!)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  • Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add one tablespoon of avocado oil. Add in the ground turkey and using a spatula, break up the turkey. When the turkey is about halfway cooked, season the turkey with a 1/2 teaspoon of salt and garlic powder. Finish cooking the ground turkey until no longer pink.
  • Next add in the diced onion, cabbage mix, zucchini, shredded carrots, ginger and garlic. Stir gently to combine all of the ingredients with the turkey. Cook the vegetables for about 10 minutes until they soften and become tender.
  • Drizzle in the teriyaki sauce and stir. Let cook for about 2 minutes, just until the sauce starts to bubble.
  • Turn off the heat and serve. Garnish with sliced green onions and for those who love heat, add a drizzle of Yellow Bird siracha. Enjoy!
