Can I be honest with y’all? Between work, motherhood, and moving to a farm (hello, farm chores!), finding time to sit down with a good book lands pretty low on the priority list. But, learning doesn’t have to mean hours with a highlighter in hand.
Anyone who’s been around me long enough knows my love for habit-stacking. And that’s why I’m all about learning on the go or a little at a time – whether that means tuning into a podcast on a morning walk, skimming research to grab just a few relevant gems, or diving into a book a couple pages at a time.
Here’s a roundup of my favorite health podcasts and books — plus a few I’ve had the honor of being featured on.. Whether you’re looking for info on functional medicine, specific health topics, parenting, or just want a value-packed listen…I’ve got you! Let’s get into my faves.
Favorite Health Podcasts
Sometimes it’s an entire episode of “ah-ha’s” and other times it’s just a few profound takeaways – here are the shows I keep coming back to:
Podcast Episodes I Love:
- Him & Her Show ft. Courtney Swan – The Bossticks give real-talk health advice with a side of humor and honesty. This episode with Courtney pulls back the curtain on the big food industry – and how we can protect our wellbeing despite it.
- Culture Apothecary ft. Allison Evans – A must-listen for toxin-free living and natural healing. Allison isn’t just my BFF. She’s an absolute force and wealth of knowledge. You will come out of this episode ready to toss the toxins.
- Culture Apothecary ft. Thaddeus Owen– A geek-out moment for all things light, sleep, and rhythm. My girl Alex Clark is the host of this super interesting episode that *sheds light* on all things circadian rhythm.
- Grounded Wellness ft. Grace Harvey – Grounded Wellness is all about practical tips and deep dives on healing from the root. The episode with Grace Harvey is close to my heart, as my team and I played a role in Grace’s “healing acne naturally” journey.
- Grounded Wellness ft. Paul Saladino – And in the episode with Paul Saladino, he doesn’t just challenge the status quo, he brings ancestral wisdom and personal experience to pull back the curtain on why our nation is so alarmingly sick – and what to do about it.
- Tucker Carlson Podcast ft. Casey & Casey Means – Controversial? Maybe. Compelling? Definitely. The Means are literally some of the most brilliant go-getters I know – just listen, and you’ll understand.
Additional Podcast Gems:
- Pursuit of Wellness with Mari Llewellyn – Wellness meets mindset and transformation. Mari Llewellyn knows what it’s like to go from being overweight and unhealthy to optimizing health through fitness, mental work, and positive relationships.
- The Model Health Show – Shawn Stevenson has incredible interviews on sleep, nutrition, and hormones. You’ll learn so much
- The Doctor’s Farmacy – Dr. Mark Hyman is the functional med OG, and in his episodes, he unpacks chronic disease, functional medicine, and food as medicine.
- Huberman Lab – For science nerds and performance geeks alike – Huberman is brilliant, but also able to communicate tough topics in a simple and action-oriented manner.

Health & Wellness Books That Inspire (Even for Non-Readers)
I get it – no judgment if you’re more into the audiobook life or all about breezing through an intro and skipping to the “takeaways” page. Either way, here are some of my go-to reads that you’ll be sure to find valuable – whether skimming or deep-diving:
Cookbooks & Clean Eating
- The Defined Dish Cookbooks – Clean comfort food? Say less. Alex simply doesn’t miss.
- Good Energy – A clean, practical approach to eating for vitality. Casey Means doesn’t just share the good food, she shares the why behind it, too.
- Danielle Walker Cookbooks – Grain-free cooking that feels more like indulgence than it does restriction. Danielle’s recipes are always perfectly family friendly.
Wellness & Healing
- The Autoimmune Solution – Dr. Amy Myers dives into root causes of chronic illness. Fun fact, I actually trained/worked under Dr. Myers, and she’s one of the wisest providers I’ve met!
- The Metabolic Approach to Cancer – How to support the body during and after a diagnosis. This book was a huge driver in how I ate while battling cancer (and beyond).
- The Cancer Revolution – Functional oncology at its best. This book is amazing for fighting cancer as well as preventing it.
- The Glucose Revolution – Blood sugar balance is so foundational for overall health, and this book has such practical ideas for how to easily do it.
Pregnancy & Pediatric Health
Parenting
- Raising Mentally Strong Kids – Practically teaches parents how to give their children tools for resilience and emotional health.
- Brain-Body Parenting – A beautiful bridge between behavior and biology – total parenting perspective shift.
- Simplicity Parenting – Less is more when it comes to childhood wellness. I don’t have enough good things to say about this book and its approach.
Personal Growth + Longevity
- Outlive by Dr. Peter Attia – A deep dive on how to live longer and better. Love his approach on longevity as both science and art.
- Breath by James Nestor – One of those books that changes how you do something you’ve done your whole life.
- The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer — Sabbath, rest, and mental clarity – this book is needed now more than ever.
I hope this list inspires you to use your margin wisely – flip on a podcast or read a few pages that will inspire, teach, motivate, or equip. Knowledge is power, but it doesn’t have to come through hours in a text book. Let learning be fun again!
