Fresh Cranberry Sauce
Our holiday table isn't complete without this delicious and simple cranberry sauce! This sauce is naturally sweetened with organic maple syrup and fresh orange juice. Give this recipe a try, and we promise you won't miss the canned stuff.
Combine all of the ingredients in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Just as it starts to boil, reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes the sauce will begin to thicken and the cranberries will break down. At this point, if you would like your sauce a little thinner, add a few tablespoons of water.
Turn off the heat and cool in the saucepan for 5 minutes.
Serve immediately or at room temperature.
Optional: mix in toasted chopped pecans to the warm cranberry sauce.
Notes
This sauce can be made up to 2 days in advance. If making ahead of time, make sure to pull from the refirgerator a few hours before serving to take the chill off.
